The folks at Wandering Aimfully are always so generous with their content. I thought this article about marketing blueprints was so genius and helpful.

I love the way Amy Lynn Andrews does business, and was so impressed by this article where she shares how 2019 has been a lower-revenue year and how she’s handled it. So thoughtful & useful. Minimalist business ftw!

I’ve been loving Matt D’Avella’s Youtube channel lately, and particularly liked this video on his experiment with digital minimalism.

I was such a huge fan of The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, which I finished this week. Her second book, Circe, was also one of the best books I read this year. I cannot wait for her next!

On that note, for anyone who tells me that they don’t like reading, I plan to direct them to this post.

I just installed this browser extension, which promises to show less biased search results. Their concept is so awesome, and their intro video makes it so clear as to why this is an issue.

I am always inspired by the process of voting. I never take this important right for granted! If you’re a Canadian, have you made your plan to vote on October 21st yet? It’s so easy. Go here to figure out where and when you’ll cast your vote.

This week’s blog posts: Out of Office, Modern Medicine, and Procrastineverything. You’ll notice that I abandoned the addition of photos because I just didn’t have the bandwidth. I’m sort of fascinated by this change! I may blog about it.

Another week of feeling not my best: I caught a cold last weekend and have been dealing with it all week. It’s on its way out, but I am definitely motivated to build up my immune system so this doesn’t keep happening to me! I never used to get sick and I know this uptick is probably the result of stress and not taking good enough care of myself. Time for that to change! This weekend I plan to rest up, sleep a lot, read a lot, and be HOME in my apartment for the first time in several weekends in a row. I can’t wait. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

I am such a fan of James Clear’s weekly 321 newsletter: 3 ideas, 2 quotes, and 1 question. Simple, straightforward and always insightful. Loved idea #1 last week – see it here.

Seth Godin’s podcast episode last week was a fascinating examination of all kinds of privilege. I like the argument he’s making about the benefit of the doubt and how not giving it negatively impacts our culture.

Lovely thoughts in this podcast episode with Cathy Heller and Gabby Bernstein about how to become a super attractor. Hint: it’s about letting go.

Loved this quote: “You have to spend the time to sort through the junk to find the treasure. The only way to find the good stuff, the special stuff, the genuine moments and the true inspiration, is to first engage with the everyday, the mundane, the seemingly useless, the things nobody else seems to care about. So engage. There is no shortcut; there is no algorithm. If all you do is track what’s trending, then all you’ll ever know is exactly what everyone else already knew. To discover, you have to dig.”

I have become a YNAB convert this week!! I’m sure I’ll write more about this soon, but for now I’ll just say: I was skeptical, then I was frustrated, then I watched this guy’s amazing videos, and now I’m in love.

Celebrating along with Elise this week as her book gets published! I’ve been a fan of hers for literally YEARS and watching her journey to creating this book inspires me beyond. It took her years to figure out what to write about, then years to get it written and published. It’s a beautiful example of things taking longer than you think. So excited to get my (pre-ordered!) copy in the mail soon.

Over on my business blog this week I’m writing about why starting a mastermind group has been transformational for me and how you can create your own!

This week’s blog posts: Protect Your Vulnerabilities, Don’t Quit in the Dip, Fresh Perspective, Go for a Walk, and Make It Real.

Another week gone in a blink! This week felt like the wrapping up of a few loose ends, which was very soothing for my anxiety. I am feeling happy as I head into the Thanksgiving long weekend. I am so grateful for my life, for my family, for my friends, for where I live, for my clients, for my work. It is hard work to design a life you love but it is worth it every single day. Every single day. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Hold your loved ones close. xo.

“Inclusion is not about everyone feeling comfortable; it is more accurate to think of it as the redistribution of discomfort.” Mic drop.

An essential part of the creative process is the thrashing. I loved this episode of Before Breakfast encouraging us to embrace the thrash.

Thoughts on catching emotional colds. I feel like this happens to me a lot!

I loved this roundup of fun activities to do this fall in Toronto. You may not live here, but chances are that your city’s local magazine just released some similar articles! Go find for inspiration!

Down-to-earth advice about making simple but delicious food, eating more vegetables, using up loose ends, and throwing dinner parties.

I’m doing Do You 10Q? again this year and while I basically NEVER want to write my answers each day (I just caught up on 5 days’ worth at once), I cried when I received my 2018 answers by email last week so I’d say it’s worth it. Each day for 10 days you reflect on the past year, and next year you’ll get all your answers back. It’s a beautiful practice based on the traditions of the Jewish High Holy Days.

I recently got into The Good Place and have been watching it non-stop. I initially hated it, but then fell in love with the characters & the writing.

This week’s blog posts: Supercharge Your Gratitude, The Work Works, Sleepy Head, Know Your Limits, Back on the Horse, Take Small Steps, Avoid Big Drama, and The New Normal.

Woof it’s been a busy couple weeks! I was the maid of honour at a my friends’ wedding, and then I got some kind of food poisoning, plus a busy week of work and here I am! I am feeling a lot better today, but definitely pooped from all the activity. This weekend I am doing a mini retreat with two of my closest friends and I’m excited to dive deep with them into some of the sticky areas of my life and business. I also hope to do some reading (am LOVING this one so far) and recalibrating my nervous system. Wish me luck! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.

I really, REALLY liked this Twitter thread about what we can learn about body image from adorable sled dogs. So sweet and so helpful!

This is Canada-specific, but I tried grocery pickup this week from PC Express and it was fun and easy! Will definitely be doing again on any day I feel overwhelmed. It also really helps that if you sign in with your PC ID, it pulls up items you buy often so things move a whole lot faster.

I’ve been really into Ramit Sethi’s ideas around personal finance recently, and I particularly liked this interview he did with Cathy Heller.

A super easy tool for blurring out parts of photos or “redacting” text in multiple formats. (This is also going into The Appothecary!)

This was a fascinating episode of Super Soul Conversations about aging, beauty, and navigating growing older as a woman.

Recomendo’s newsletters are always good, but the last tip in their most recent one was so handy: how to bring up an emoji keyboard on your Mac. SO HELPFUL.

This made me extremely happy: an article on why there are so many monarch butterflies in Toronto this year. (Butterflies are one of my personal “alignment signs”, so I was thrilled to see so many this summer).

Over on my business blog this week I shared my tips for navigating an “in between” time of business. Some of them are specific to small business owners, but I also think the same ideas would be helpful if you were struggling with waiting for things to happen in your personal life, too!

This week’s blog posts: Just Start, What Would Make Me Feel Proud Of Myself?, You’re Not Going to Run Out of Ideas, Choose or Be Chosen For, Habits Are Boring, When In Doubt, Books.

This week flew by: I can’t believe it’s already the end of the week! I spent my days getting ready to launch the next round of my group program The Foundery, prepping for my friend’s bachelorette party and wedding and all the tasks that go along with that, launching Nurture (and very quickly almost selling out!), celebrating Make Lemonade turning two, and trying to fit in all my self-care every day. It’s been busy but I’m feeling good and really looking forward to a weekend away to soak up the last of summer by a very large body of water with friends. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

PS. No links next week! I will be at the aforementioned wedding!
