Obviously the most inspiring thing that I experienced this week was Nurture! Go follow Or Har-Gil, Priyanka Saju, Nautica Simone and Victory Patterns to get a glimpse of their magic.

I’ve had a lot of back pain this week after all the dishwashing at Nurture, and discovered these delightful physical therapists who make me laugh and also have great suggestions. Highly recommend checking out!

I just got these microfibre cloths into my life and am INTO THEM. Yay for reusable and beautiful objects. My computer screen has never been cleaner!

I’ve been really liking the newly-launched A Beautiful Mess podcast! I’ve followed their blog on and off for years but somehow like the podcast more. I really loved hearing them talk about their Airbnb plans and their search for forever homes. So fun.

If you like romance novels, you might like this round-up of the best ones of 2019.

Pure joy, right this way. (I am 100% obsessed with this dog and this channel)

This week on my business blog, I’m sharing some tips for handling an evolution in your identity! These tips are designed for entrepreneurs but could help with other kinds of life changes as well.

Most of this week has been spent recovering in one way or another from Nurture – it was intense, to say the least. Powerful, special, life-affirming. Also: tiring and confronting! I am so glad to have experienced it, and I’m so glad to have had some downtime this week to integrate it. This weekend I plan to continue that trend with taking it easy and spending time with my family who I haven’t seen in a while! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.

Are you into human design? I’ve been interested in it for a while now, but did a bit of a deep dive this week when I found this blog and this Instagram account! I particularly liked this post on recovering from Generator burnout. No idea what I’m talking about? Learn more here.

I found this podcast episode about working retreats super interesting and I think it would be helpful for designing a “DIY” retreat for yourself, should you be so inclined!

I bought my first pair of Sheertex this week and while they are not as unbreakable as advertised (I got a toenail snag on my first wear that they very kindly replaced for me!!!) they are completely unrippable by human hands or feet pulling or stomping. This is a gamechanger!

This week I also started listening to Harry Potter and the Sacred Text for the first time! I’m a Harry Potter nerd, but I also just love their idea of treating *anything* as sacred and seeing what meaning and inspiration you can draw from it. Fascinating and so well produced.

This week over on my business blog, I’m tackling the thorny issue of imposter syndrome and sharing my five favourite reframes and ideas to lessen its pull on us. I also shared a quote pulled from it on Instagram which seems to be resonating with people!

This week’s blog posts: Welcome to the Weekend, Tricks of Time, What Feels Fun?, Setting the Tone, and Energy Doesn’t Lie.

How did your week treat you? I spent much of mine dealing with the joys of being self-employed, aka figuring out how to charge HST. I also started getting up an hour earlier thanks to the nudge of DST and it’s been working out really well so far! I love having quiet, uninterrupted time before I need to get to work. I also launched my very first retreat! So that was fun, and scary and exciting. This weekend I have plans to take a dog walk with a friend, run a bunch of errands, and have dinner with another friend. And a bunch of resting too, since next week we’ll be off to Nurture. Which reminds me: no newsletter next week! Until next time, have a wonderful weekend too. xo.

I was really intrigued by this idea to use the time change to your advantage and start getting up earlier! May try this.

This week I bought a shower curtain from Wild Woven Collection, which I am so excited about! My bathroom is slowly taking on a pink theme, and their hand-painted textiles will fit in perfectly.

I loved this reflection from Jess of Free Label about the process of shopping for her wedding dress. I think the wedding industry is bananas and it was beautiful to hear how she navigated it while retaining her sanity.

I haven’t yet had the chance to actually read through this “Guide to Life” document, but it looks to be full of interesting tidbits. AND, it’s inspiring me to make a Guide to Life of my own!

I was inspired by the story of how our city rallied together to take a stand for trans people in the face of a hateful trans-exclusionary event at the library.

This week’s blog posts: Writing On the Wall, Scrappiness, Not Scarcity, Decision Arcs, and A Normal Day.

Fewer links today because I did less reading this week! It was another busy one, full of lovely client sessions, a haunted house concert, and putting together the sales pages & checkout process for my first ever retreat! I can’t wait to tell you more about it next week. For now, I’m signing off and looking forward to a quiet weekend. I have a book club meeting and a brunch with my sister, but otherwise I will be taking some much-needed time to myself to rest & read. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo

Important reminder about the “big secret” to success.

I have been LOVING this podcast, which is a smart, well-produced, insightful show about why romance novels are super feminist & how writing them can be a sacred practice. It’s fascinating.

I had a really great session with Chris from Rags to Reasonable this week! He’s a financial advisor for creatives and he runs free office hours once a month. Our session was so valuable – he is so generous and helpful.

Loved this studio apartment makeover! Such a great example of how we can all do so much to make our homes more beautiful & functional, no matter how much space we’re working with.

Where Should We Begin? is back and as wonderful as ever! Every time I listen to this show I feel like I’m becoming a better human being.

Over on my business blog, I’m sharing my three best tips for managing a complicated project! Related: I set four different clients up with Asana this week. 😂

This week’s blog posts: Don’t Miss Twice, Pivoting is Not Failing, Writing Or Nothing, Identities Change, It’s All Relative.

This has been a full week! Lots of client sessions, calls with loved ones, office hours and texts. I feel like I’ve been doing a lot of running around and it’s been busy, but in a good way! Either way, I’m looking forward to a more relaxing weekend. I’ll be heading to a Halloween party with a few friends, and then taking part in our family’s annual pumpkin carving competition! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.
