I found this podcast episode about Walmart taking steps toward gun control and calling for action from legislators both interesting and inspiring. Thank goodness someone is doing something is all I can say.

Also super-good listening this week were two episodes about Google doing some sketchy stuff: this one from Basecamp’s CEO and this one from Seth Godin.

Nifty little tutorial here for creating nicer backgrounds for your Instagram stories when you share a post!

I love this YouTube channel and am going through the archives. I liked the ideas in this video for new habits to form in 2019.

I sent out my business newsletter this week! There’s a few extra things inside that I’m finding inspiring, if you care to take a peek.

This week’s posts: Every Day, Even Today, Focused Attention and You Never Know.

Not so many links this week because: it’s been a busy one! I had a full weekend of retreating + family events, and then a week full of working, including planning a number of upcoming events. So a lot less internet-ing than I usually do! But lots of great offline inspiration, including most recently going through my entire closet (with the help of a friend) and getting rid of anything that no longer feels like a fit. It was wonderful! I feel like a new human. This weekend I’m going to check out the enormous Polish festival nearby and hang out with my friends. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

I listened to this podcast episode from Awaken Radio twice in a row because it really resonated with me. If you’re feeling a sense of being ready for next steps but feeling resistance around them, it could be a good listen.

I did a couple Yoga with Adriene videos this week and particularly enjoyed the vibe and practice of this Fill Your Cup yoga. Yum!

Everything Malcolm Gladwell does, I love. This week on his podcast he announced that he’s revamping the audiobook world by making the audio version of his new book, Talking to Strangers, so dynamic by including original audio archival footage, recordings of everyone he interviewed for the book, reenactments of scenes, and more. Why aren’t all audiobooks this? Because we’re not all Gladwell. Sneak peek of the book in this new format right here.

This vlog made me want to a) go to Morocco, and b) get a whole bunch of new Moroccan-inspired home decor items! Can’t get over how gorgeous everything is there.

This week I finally caved and bought the premium version of Flic (only $3!) to be able to manage all my photos better. It’s essentially the dating app of photos, meaning you can swipe left or right to keep or delete photos from your phone’s archive. I can’t really explain why it works so well, but it’s the ONLY way I’ve ever successfully cleared out iPhone photos so it’s worth it for me. Their free version is pretty good too!

Obviously my big news this week, in case you missed it, was the announcement of the Business 101 program from Make Lemonade – I’m teaching the Operations 101 class! It’s so exciting to see this take off, and the most inspiring part for me was working with the incredible team of women. You can see a fun sizzle reel here!

This week’s blog posts: Something Juicy and Advocate for Yourself.

Haha! I said I wouldn’t be coming back for a newsletter this week, but it’s too late, I’m back. I had started writing this one before I even remembered that I’d decided to take a break from it. I think all the “back to school” energy has me pumped up so it felt like second nature to keep going. Old habits die hard, I guess! Note to self: next time, plan out your busy seasons in advance and take a break THEN (ie. December & July). Hope that you all had a wonderful first week “back”. This weekend, I’m having a mini business summit with a friend, picking up my altered bridesmaid’s dress, and attending my cousin’s engagement party with my family! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.

I’m in the midst of establishing a new weekly admin ritual, so I loved this inspiration from Marie Forleo of what she does for hers.

A particularly good episode of Akimbo about smart fridges, and how much more our technology could be doing for us.

In case you missed it in my Processing Time blog post, I loved this video from The School of Life. SO SMART.

James Clear is a smartie-pants also, I love his very quick weekly 321 emails. This one was so great, especially Idea #2 about networking.

I had no idea that the Crisis Text Line was a thing, but it seems so wonderful. Available in Canada and the UK so far, pass it on to anyone who might benefit.

This app for exploring the natural world is AMAZING. (PS. The last two links were from Recomendo, a newsletter I am loving lately.)

Dinner Confidential looks so cool and is so affordable! It’s a monthly thoughtful dinner series run in a number of cities around the world.

This week’s blog posts: Personal Reset Day, Moment By Moment, Processing Time, and Siren Song.

Hello hello! Happy Friday. We have made it to the last Friday of August, which always feels like the last Friday of summer, even though summer *technically* goes until September 23. I’m trying not to pre-emptively cut summer off when we still have a month left! But there’s no doubt that it feels like summer’s winding down, especially with kids and teachers going back to school. How will you be spending these last few glorious days of summer? On that note, I’m going to take the next couple weeks off of writing these posts, but will be back later on in September. I hope you have a lovely end of summer. xo.

I just think this new campaign from WealthSimple is the literal definition of being on brand. So smart and quirky and practical and funny. And would make me feel better about being a customer of theirs.

The Good Yolk’s weekly newsletter is always fun and fresh. I particularly liked last week’s email.

My mind was blown by this podcast episode about the concept of “secondary gains”. It’s only been a couple days and it’s already filtered into my vocabulary and mindset in a big way.

Super clever hacks for sharing links on Instagram if you don’t have the blessed Swipe Up feature!

I read my sister’s copy of Genius Recipes last weekend and was very inspired. It made me want to cook elaborate things again, like I did in university (hey cinnamon buns, hey chocolate ice cream, hey that crazy cake). Their website is also a great resource.

Make Lemonade finally spilled a bit more juice about the something juicy campaign! I have been so into how they’re handling the marketing for this and so happy to be a part of it.

This week’s blog posts: Summer’s Not Over, Intentional Self-Care, and Inspiration is Optional.

And over on my business blog, I’m giving you a tour of my all-time favourite product, The Appothecary, and how it helps you find better business systems. (It’s also on IGTV, if you’re into that kind of thing)

I’m soaking up the last of summer! I finally feel like I have a bit of bandwidth back, and I’m using it to get outside every day, do my work in new fun places, and go out for ice cream. It’s been nice to get back to my routines, eat more greens, and start to feel more grounded again. This weekend I’m prepping for and then helping to host a bridal shower for my friend Laura! In between all that, I’ll be hanging out with the dog, reading a book, and soaking up the sunshine. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.
