I feel like my entire adult life is about realizing that my period, and the accompanying hormonal changes, are actually noticeable and important. This article helped! As does this recent Instagram follow.

Super interesting technique to help you answer tough questions.

I read this book this week and fell in love. One of my favourites of the year for sure – it’s the perfect blend of sweet and quirky and poignant and nostalgic and hopeful.

Yay for book recommendations from our presidential fave.

I love almost every episode of Super Soul Conversations: it’s one of the most consistently helpful podcasts I listen to. This interview with Iyanla Vanzant gave me a big a-ha, starting at around 13:45 (but the whole thing is awesome).

I liked this conversation in the Money & Happy Facebook group about updating and investing in your space rather than moving. Very good, simple tips.

I love following my intuition, and I also loved reading this analysis of how to think about your intuition in a more nuanced way to avoid bias and inaccuracy.

My business newsletter went out this week! It was a fun one. Read & subscribe here.

This week’s blog posts: Going Through the Motions, Just Keep Swimming, Worth the Drive, and Morning Ideas.

PS. Something juicy is coming!

It’s been a fun week! I was filming last weekend for part of a juicy project, and today as you read this I’m taking over the Make Lemonade Instagram account for the day. This weekend I am leaving the city for a mini retreat to my mom’s house. After a few stressful weeks, I’m ready to hunker down with a stack of books in the sunshine and play with the dog. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

Very cute idea: a resource of advice people wish they could give themselves at different ages. You pick what age you are now, and read other people’s thoughts. So reassuring!

I liked this guide, 50 Ways to Find More Joy Every Day from Aesthetics of Joy. (If you don’t want to put in your email you can access it here).

This short podcast episode was such a nice reframe and made me feel so much better about my habits instead of worse, which is how I usually feel. Celebrate what you’re already doing right!

My all-time favourite advice is from Maya Angelou and Oprah: “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.” I really enjoyed this deep dive into the concept on Super Soul Sunday.

I don’t know whether I’d actually follow through and use this app, but I am in love with the concept: writing notes & summaries for the books you read. I guess I could hack this on Goodreads, but this app looks so shiny!

I loved this essay about why caring for your home is a form of self-care. “If you’re feeling triggered by what you don’t have as it relates to material things, it probably means it is time go inward and explore what you may need emotionally or physically at home to feel more at peace.”

I don’t have currently have a romantic partner, but am obsessed with this card deck app from the Gottman Institute and plan to use it in my friendships too!

This week’s blog posts: You Can Start Again, Newton’s First Law, Little Wins, and You Are What You Eat. And over on my business blog: How to Manage Work During Stressful Times.

Feels good to be back to the blog! It was necessary to take a break, but it’s also necessary to make time for it again now. Writing down my thoughts keeps me grounded and present, and writing this recap post every week helps center me. It’s nice to have touchstones when everything else feels overwhelming. This weekend I’m working on something juicy with Make Lemonade, have a family get-together, and plan to spend the rest of my time resting and recuperating. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

The answer to this idea is just: yes. Who’s in to build a house like this together? The video is worth a watch.

I LOVED Sarah’s post this week about using envy as a tool. Such great insights here, especially about using your envy as evidence of what’s possible.

Important reminder: if they’ll do it for you, they’ll do it to you.

I really liked this episode where Oprah shared vulnerably about her ego journey, especially how it relates to her weight loss struggles. Fascinating.

Lots of interesting thoughts here about Basecamp‘s new book “Shape Up“, which is about how their team works and ships new projects. The book is available for free here, I’m excited to read it.

Forgive me, but I love Taylor Swift’s new song, Archer. Sorry bout it byeeee.

This week’s blog posts: Worth It, Power In Numbers, The Real Work, and Stay Present, Feel Better.

Woof, it’s been a hectic week! A bunch of work projects came together all at once, which meant a lot of long days finishing things up and also trying to prep for my bestie Katie arriving for the weekend. I’m so excited about her visit – we’re planning to enjoy Toronto’s patios, talk endlessly and explore the city in the summertime. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

This week I’ve been really into watching this YouTube channel of a local Toronto interior designer. So fun to watch her “reno” her rental!

I really liked this video about productivity hacks for entrepreneurs (or everyone). I started using the spray bottle one this week and….it’s actually been working!

For their birthday, Siteground is offering a free year of website hosting to everyone who successfully completes their (easy) quiz. Super quirky and fun way to market their business.

Great podcast episode this week from Seth about how belief and truth are not synonymous, and how that impacts our lives and businesses. Really interesting food for thought.

Really, really loved this article of advice on writing and life, but it would apply to pretty much any creative endeavour. “You have to squander your good ideas. You have to get them out of you and into the world. And you have to trust that there will be more once you’ve let them out — or that there will be more because you have.”

I have been watching Stranger Things 3 this week and Oh My Goodness It’s Good. Every detail of this show is delightful!

In case you missed it, there’s a new podcast episode out this week! It’s all about noticing what our behaviour has to tell us about how we’re really feeling.

This week’s blog posts: Small Change, Big Change, Your Distractions are Productive, Bookmark Habits, and Treasure Hunting.

How was your week? Mine has gone by so quickly I can’t even believe it. Things are picking up work-wise, I’ve started the third round of The Foundery, I did my Inbox Zero workshop for a team this week, and I’m working on a few fun projects behind the scenes with Etsy and Make Lemonade. Fun, right?! This weekend, I’ll be heading up to a cottage with a few friends and I cannot wait to go SWIMMING. My absolute favourite part of summer, hands down. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.
