Inspiration | November 6

I love it when the Goodreads Best Books of the year finalists are announced! I can never vote on my favourites because I’ve usually read none of them, but I always get so many awesome book recommendations.

7 ways to deal with creative self-doubt.

I will read anything Cheryl Strayed has written, including the answers to her Ask Me Anything on Reddit this week! Awesome stuff.

Austin Kleon did a wonderful thing and made us a digital deck of cards to help us out when we get creatively stuck.

Let’s talk about how to practice self-love and self-compassion.

From FOMO to JOMO.

Tied for best recipe of the week: this peasant bread and this 10 minute vegetable broth.

I’ve been loving Dear Sugar Radio more than ever these days – my boyfriend and I now listen to it in the car together every week. I also adore Happier (especially their recent series on the four tendencies) and The Lively Show. But when are Serial and Invisibilia coming back!?!?!

We finally finished our ten day juice cleanse! I know, the word “finally” seems like it shouldn’t apply to any ten day period, but you try not eating solid food for ten days and tell me that by the end, “finally isn’t highly appropriate. Both of us agreed that the challenge was more mental than physical, but either way we were so pleased to have some solid food again yesterday. Our week was mostly relaxed because we were juicing – I tried to do lots of reading and writing and a little bit of yoga. This weekend we’re hosting yoga in the park, cooking at home, and hopefully doing a little bit more exploring of this beautiful country after a week spent mostly at home. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

  1. Hi Steph,

I would love to read more about your juice cleanse, as in, why you wanted to do it, how you did it, and how you felt during it!

The idea of not eating solid food for 10 days feels almost impossible for me! Did you feel hungry during your days, or does the juice feel satisfying? Is this something you would do again?

Feeling great happiness in my heart for your new home and your love!

    1. Hi Malavika!

Great to hear from you! I hope you’re well. Thanks for your comment, it was definitely a tough experience in some ways but not too hard when it came down to it! I just posted about my experience, and I’ll be recording a podcast more in depth soon too. :)
