028: On Positive Illusions

The Life In Limbo podcast is about building a life you love on the foundation of what’s most important to you. Each week I chat with an interesting person or share my own ideas in order to explore about how we can stay connected to our personal values, measure what matters most to us, listen to our own voices, and create a life we enjoy. Subscribe on iTunes here or see all episodes here.

This week on the show I’m talking about my recent interrogation of some of my own positive illusions! In the episode I define the concept of positive illusions and make the case for why sometimes we need to break our own positive illusions (both the ones about ourselves and about the world) in order to become more of the people we want to be.

027: Let Time Do Its Work >> Life In Limbo

This week on the podcast I’m talking about how lately I’ve been trying hard to let time do its work when I’m feeling stressed out and overwhelmed, and the types of mantras and strategies that are helping me do so. It’s a concept that’s really hard to apply in the moment, but when I’m able to, it makes a world of difference.

026: Kathryn Bondy on The Art of Noticing >> Life In Limbo

It was such a joy to talk to my friend Kathryn Bondy about her incredible work ethic, her profound artistry, and the way she sees the world. I am eternally inspired by almost everything that comes out of her mouth, and I was so excited to finally sit her down and start to capture some of her genius onto the record. In this episode we talk about how her journey began, how she taught herself the art of paper artistry, how her process has evolved, and what inspires her in the world.

025: Things Happen For Me, Not To Me >> Life In Limbo

This week on the podcast I’m talking about one of my favourite reframes (borrowed from the greats, Oprah Winfrey and Byron Katie): the idea that things happen for me, not to me. I also discuss the importance of allowing yourself to feel your feelings before reframing the situation and avoiding spiritual bypassing, and share a few examples of times in my life when this reframing strategy has helped me take more inspired action in the face of tricky circumstances.
