Lately

Taking photos on my iPhone more than on my camera.

IndulgingĀ in dark chocolate after my lunch.

Going to the beach every weekend.

StartingĀ to watch Gilmore Girls for the first time and I think I’m going toĀ quickly become obsessed.

Ending my weekends at the local jimjilbang for a soak in the hot baths, a trip to the sauna, and time spent appreciating the view of the beach and bridge from the roof.

Eating kimchi fried rice every time I go to the local Korean diner.

Doing a daily handstand challenge for the next few weeks with my co-host at Guinea Pigging Green and already I’m improving!

Falling behind on my reading goal even as my to-read list gets longer and longer.

Planning to buy these shorts and these shoes on my next paycheck. (I’m as surprised as you are that a pair of high waisted shorts are on my wishlist, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried them on.)

Cheering my mom on from afar as she’s working hard to get our house ready to sell in only about a week’s time!

Looking forwardĀ to trips in the next couple months to Seoul for Ultra music festival (M.I.A. is playing!) and Jeju Island.

ThrilledĀ that people I know from home are considering moving to Korea to teach!

Re-obsessedĀ with Pinterest.

Getting an anxious heart sometimes for no good reason but working on letting things go.

ListeningĀ to equal parts Fancy and the Gregory Alan Isakov album.

Grateful for FaceTime, email, and that all my loved ones are healthy & happy.

Lately | April

Currently AprilThrilled about the weekend I just spent in Tokyo.

Tired but it was worth it.

Proud of an article I just submitted.

Nursing a cup of hot water with honey and a dissolved vitamin C tablet.

Listening to my favourite podcasts every day on my walk and the Lana Del Rey album when I do errands.

Watching The Good Wife and loving it.

Appreciating all the beautiful Spring flowers blooming. I notice new ones appearing every day.

Missing my family and friends back home a little today, but…

Grateful (very) for the friends I’ve made here.

Putting pumpkin seeds in my morning granola.

Still obsessed with the beach and the waves.

Creating a lot more lately (blogging, podcasting, photographing, writing) and feeling excited about that.

Eating rice or quinoa bowls most nights.

Pinning lots of inspiration and yummy recipes to try.

Jumping around like a maniac doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred in my apartment after work these days.

Resolving to read more and read better, more interesting books.

Happy about my version of the #100HappyDays project and all the lovely everyday photos I’ve been taking as a result of making this intention. You can see them here.

Excited that Love Letter #1 is in the mail en route to its lovely recipient.

Having lots of thoughts about the (my) future.

Already planning for a restful, quiet weekend.

Trying to notice and actively appreciate the magic and the beauty of my days.

Working on staying present and grounded instead of being nostalgic for another place.

Impressed with myself that I’ve managed to create a life and routine here in Korea (!?) after a relatively short amount of time. I feel miles away from where I was in my last Currently post.

Loving the people I’m lucky enough to know, as always and for forever.

Lately | March

Currently March 5

Staring at my bags, packed in the corner of my otherwise empty room.

Flying to Korea tomorrow.

Amazed at all the synchronicity I’ve experienced as this big move came together.

Content that I’ve been able to say my goodbyes-for-now to almost all of my loved ones.

Giggling (still) over how gosh-darn cute these Korean flag cupcakes I made turned out.

Designing a website & logo for a new venture I’m really excited about.

Drinking a lot of chocolate almond milk and white wine.

Eating a batch of these amazing cookies, one by one.

Loving the fact that it’s still light out around 6PM nowadays.

Turning pro (slowly but surely) after reading the awesome book.

Editing interesting videos for the Red Tent Sisters.

Discovering new podcasts I can fall in love with – the comments section in this article helped!

Nervous about starting to teach children on Monday.

Staying positive.

Grateful for all the love and supportive words I’ve gotten from everyone around me about my move to Korea.

Resolving to get back to my yoga practice + start taking more photos again.

Filling notebooks with ideas and quotes.

Planning to watch all this year’s Oscar-nominated movies…of course, now that the Oscars are over, right?

Happy to be escaping the frigid temperatures and snow to go to a warmer climate.

Excited/disbelieving/overwhelmed by the fact that in a few days I will be living in Korea.

Feeling BLESSED. It’s a wild and wonderful life.
