Lately | February

This is a snapshot of what my life was like in February 2015. You can see all my Lately posts here.

Lately February >> Life In Limbo

Burning a purple candle a sweet friend brought me back from Israel a long time ago.

Reading Station Eleven and Sense & Sensibility, and planning to read the rest of Jane Austen’s oeuvre.

Listening to Invisibilia, Bleachers, The National, Guapo of the Saints.

Drinking coffee with soy milk a lot more regularly and a delicious honey lemon tea a friend gave me as a gift for Seollal in the evenings.

Throwing things away pretty mercilessly after reading this book about tidying up.

Eating a lot of meals out at restaurants: BAT sandwiches, dak galbi, Mexican and Indian. We had time off work so all we did was eat and spend time with friends.

Donating this month to Care’s lockbox program to help communities start their own village lending and saving program.

Buying lots of things for travelling, including Saltwater sandals, this headlamp and this travel towel (if those last two ever ship out, that is).

Watching (still!) Gilmore Girls, and the occasional Oscar movie, same as last month.

Editing a lot of videos and podcast episodes.

Enjoying the mildest winter I’ve ever had and trying to be outside in the sunshine as much as possible.

Loving looking back at my gratitude journal entries for February as I write this post.

Saying goodbyes to friends here as they move on to other chapters.

Dancing a lot.

Counting 34 days until I leave Korea. What?

Appreciating my apartment, my life here, my loved ones, my next chapter.

Lately | January

This is a snapshot of what my life was like in January 2015. You can see all my Lately posts here.

Lately January >> Life In Limbo

Watching Gilmore Girls Season 3 + 4,  and the Oscar-nominated movies one by one.

Reading a lot of great fiction by David Mitchell, Rainbow Rowell and John Green.

Making lists on lists of things to do/buy/edit/create before I leave Korea on April 1st.

Getting used to having perfect vision at night and when I wake up in the morning.

Listening to Invisibilia, Dear Sugar Radio and Death Sex & Money.

Planning a backpacking trip through Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and India for after I’m finished my contract here!

Booking flights galore to Thailand, to Vietnam, to New Delhi, and finally to home sweet home. I’ve been using Cheapoair mostly.

Creating a lot of great episodes of the podcast to air while I’m away.

Keeping up with my daily goals to meditate, walk 10,000 steps and write in my gratitude journal almost every single day.

Drinking milky earl grey tea in the mornings and red wine at night.

Doing a lot of journalling, processing, and thinking.

Eating homemade vegetable soup, omelets with leeks for breakfast, and peanut tofu sandwiches.

Trying to stay present (always) (and forever).

Grateful for the awesome people I know and love.

Excited (very) for what February has in store.

Wishing you a happy week, not too cold and full of love.

Lately | December

This is a snapshot of my life in December 2014. You can see all my Lately posts here.

Lately December >> Life In Limbo

Trying out a trial of Spotify Premium and loving it.

Listening to Tenerife Sea and this remix of Thinking Out Loud. (Basically, Ed Sheeran.) Oh, and Pop Danthology.

Watching House of Cards and The Mindy Project whenever I feel like watching an episode of something.

Eating a lot of homemade pad thai after my mom and I finally found a bottle of the sauce, cheese and crackers, and clementines.

Looking forward to my vacation in Boracay!

Adding some lovely things to my wishlist to save up for.

Keeping a gratitude journal and it’s like my own little book of lovely.

Learning as much Spanish as I can through Memrise and Duolingo.

Playing Serial and Dear Sugar Radio with hearts in my eyes.

Drinking a ton of tea and hot water with lemon.

Wanting to see this movie and this movie ASAP. I also can’t wait for Girls Season 4.

Loving Buffer and Snapchat.

Proud of my year in reading.

Wearing lots of cozy sweaters and my wooden prayer beads that mom bought for me.

Sad to be away from home this Christmas. It’s really hard. But:

Grateful (very) for FaceTime to keep me in touch with my loved ones.

Wishing you a very happy holiday week. Hope there is lots of mulled wine and cozy fireplaces and good books ahead for you.

Lately | October

Lately October >> Life In Limbo

Buzzing with creative ideas for an e-course and new listings for the shop.

Listening to new Drake, old Drake, Anaconda and new Taylor Swift. Don’t be like me, kids. Or do, it’s so fun and we can have sweet dance parties.

Totally obsessed with Serial and having uber-intense discussions with my friends after each new episode airs.

Enjoying my nightly walks around the neighbourhood to get in my 10,000 steps a day.

Walking everywhere in either these shoes or these. (See also: pretending summer isn’t over.)

Proud of these photos + article I wrote about a favourite restaurant in my neighbourhood here in Busan.

Touched by the response from family and friends about my piece for HWY. Truly.

Wavering about whether I want to do NaNoWriMo again this year. Leaning towards no. But maybe?!

Excited for this movie, and this one too.

Still doing morning pages.

Painting my nails wine-red.

Meditating every day. I don’t always love it, but in general I love it.

Looking forward to a semi-formal event in a couple weeks, hikes in the changing fall leaves, and all the amazing stuff that’s going to happen in November that I can’t and shouldn’t try to plan for.

Gobsmacked at how fast this month went by (this feels like it was the same month).

Missing my besties + family back home, but…

Loving my friends + life here.

Planning for my next steps but trying not to freak out. As I’ve learned, 5 months is both really short and very long.

Happy.
