This week I went to see Booksmart and it was so, so funny! Yes please to more movies that cast smart, interesting women in the lead roles and highlight strong friendships. I would watch this again immediately.

I also watched Always Be My Maybe (accidentally 1.5 times) and really enjoyed it. Yes please to more movies that cast people of colour in the lead roles and highlight other cultures. So good.

My sister and I went to see Dear Evan Hansen on the weekend as our belated birthday gift from our mom, and it was such a fun and special day. Going to musicals is my love language, I think.

This is an interesting tool that’ll show you lots of alternative platforms for whatever service you’re looking for. Very lightweight but very helpful for basic research.

Played some catch-up on my Super Soul Sunday listening this week and really liked this interview with Father Richard Rohr.

This week I gratefully referenced Captain Awkward looking for support with something a friend was struggling with, so here’s your periodic reminder that Captain Awkward is a wonderful resource for how to live life. (Also in this category: Ask Polly & Tiny Beautiful Things).

In case you missed it, I’m blogging every weekday now! This week’s posts: On Meditating, Let Your Why Decide, Let There Be Endings, Strategy of Pairing.

Most of my inspiration this week took place offline! It was the last group session of my group program on Tuesday, which was special and bittersweet. I also had a great friend date that involved black-and-white milkshakes and fries. And I also had a super great picnic with the best view. Summer is here! It’s the best. I will be outside if you need me! I hope you have a wonderful weekend xo.

As someone who not-so-secretly wants to move somewhere more rural, I was so inspired by this article about a woman moving back to the area she grew up.

Love these reflections from successful women on the moment they felt like they’d “made it”.

This piece on why human contact is now a luxury was not inspiring in the typical sense, but it was definitely thought-provoking, not to mention heartbreaking.

I did my friend Kathryn’s free time course this week and it was great! She shares five reframes we can use to get a handle on our time & productivity.

Looking for some awesome newsletters written by women? Jocelyn K. Glei asked, and the people gave her tons of awesome suggestions.

Reminder: when it comes to your work, “It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”

On the podcast this week I was chatting about the concept of being less precious with sharing our creative work.

And in case you missed it, I am sneakily getting back into weekday daily blogging! Monday to Thursday I’m challenging myself to sit down and write a short reflection. This week’s posts: Output Before Input, On Integration, Two Tokens, and The Pay Is Certain.

It’s been a lovely week, despite some chilly, rainy weather here in Toronto! I did some very cute dogsitting last weekend, had a fun meeting with the ladies at Make Lemonade, launched my group program registrations and spent time with fun people. This weekend I’m looking forward to Dundas West Fest and going to see Dear Evan Hansen with my sister. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

There was one particularly beautiful moment in the interview in this episode of Happier with Ross Gay when he talks about how joy is absolutely a rigorous sensibility that takes practice and discipline. The section starts at 27:05 but the whole episode is great.

Loved this podcast on productivity shame from Hurry Slowly. I think productivity shame is REAL and hard and really affects so many of us.

Very interesting answers here to the question “What are some non-obvious ideas or habits that can change your life—that once you know about them, you don’t want to live without them again?”

Some fun & clever tips here for making your Instagram stories more beautiful!

Very good distinction here about the different kinds of wealth and why some are a trap!

This was Paul Jarvis’s newsletter from a couple weeks back but I’m still thinking about it because it so perfectly captures my philosophies on business too. What matters is whether or not your business is profitable!

I would not exactly call this VICE article on AirPods “inspiring” – although perhaps it will inspire some people to not buy them? It feels important though that we read this and think more carefully about our purchasing decisions.

This week on my business blog I’m talking about how I broke down a big project into manageable steps!

PS. I’m toying around with the idea of blogging more regularly in posts like this one and this one. Inching ever closer to that Seth Godin daily blog life!

I spent most of this week recovering energetically from my masterclass last week at Make Lemonade! Even though it went well and was fun & exciting, it took a lot out of me mentally. So it’s been a gentle week taking things slowly and giving myself lots of time to decompress. This weekend, I’m dogsitting for the family pup and I cannot wait for some of those puppy cuddles! Not to mention the peace and quiet of being out of the city. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

This week I have been very obsessed with the new Carly Rae Jepsen album, Dedicated. Can’t stop, won’t stop listening!

I was extremely inspired by myself this week because I figured out how to install a ceiling light safely and securely, without being electrocuted! It’s a miracle. Highly recommend trying this yourself if you want to feel like a million bucks. I used a combo of YouTube tutorials and the Ikea instructions.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to visit the Sunday’s Company workshop space and was so inspired to learn more about her process and see all her beautiful products. Everything she makes is thoughtfully produced and full of plant medicine.

I finished reading Digital Minimalism this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am already applying lessons I learned from it in my own life. Anything to loosen the grip that my technology has over me!

In case you missed it, this week on the podcast I’m talking about how I read so many books! This was such a fun episode to record and I’m excited to share it with you, in case you want to read more too.

This week was mostly consumed by preparing for my masterclass at Make Lemonade! By the time you’re reading this, I’ll have given the class already so fingers crossed it went well! I was also really inspired this week by offline things: my trip to the countryside with a few pals that was peaceful and restorative, and my Grandma’s 91st birthday party, a little mid-day meetup at the dog park with a friend. These occasions were quiet, but they were super special and I’m happy I got to experience them. This weekend I have a friend’s birthday barbecue and will be spending time with family! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.
