Inspiration June 1 >> Life In Limbo

I love Jocelyn K. Glei for always reminding me of what’s important to me, and I loved her newsletter this week about taking a break from her computer. Refreshing.

In case you missed it, Where Should We Begin? is back at it with the heart-wrenching, soul-feeding, genuinely moving episodes. It’s my favourite podcast!

It’s election season here in Ontario, and I was proud to vote in advance yesterday. For anyone else who lives here: everything you need to know, a quiz to help you decide who to vote for, and Just F’ing Vote, an initiative for millennials.

This week I learned about this Entrepreneurship 101 course put on by MaRS and it looks awesome.

Oh my gosh, Airtable blocks look so cool. I am a bit overwhelmed about how to begin using them, but this is my current favourite system and I am trying to convert everyone.

This week I interviewed my friend Rebecca Jacobs, a personal style coach, about how she uses her morning routine to live a better version of her life.

Without a doubt, the most inspiring part of my week was being up north at my boyfriend’s family cottage. For me, there is absolutely nothing more inspiring than being in a beautiful natural place surrounded by water and sky and trees. Although it was not a vacation – I was working while we were there – it was extremely refreshing and grounding. Even though the boat battery died as we were leaving and we had quite an adventure trying to get off the island! Still so much fun. This weekend I’m hoping to catch up on some work projects and spend time with my family. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

005: Rebecca Jacobs on Staying Grounded

The Life In Limbo podcast is about building a life you love on the foundation of what’s most important to you. Each week I chat with an interesting person to explore about how we can stay connected to our personal values, measure what matters most to us, listen to our own voices, and create a life we enjoy. Subscribe on iTunes here or see all episodes here.

005: Rebecca Jacobs on Staying Grounded >> Life In Limbo

Ever since we became friends, I’ve admired Rebecca’s commitment to her morning routine, and I’ve always wanted to ask her about it! She sees her morning routine as a way to set up her day, every day, to be the best it could be, and to live the life she most wants to live. I learned a lot from the way she structures her morning and left with inspiration to bring new elements into my own daily routine.

Inspiration May 25 >> Life In Limbo

Reminder: your local public library probably puts on some really cool (free!) events and talks. I went to one yesterday with CBC host Andrea Bain, who wrote the book Single Girl Problems, and it was a lot of fun.

Revisionist History is back with Season 3! I just find Malcolm endlessly delightful.

In very sad news, my friend Kathryn Bondy of Golden Age Botanicals experienced a tragic fire at her studio this week. Although upsetting, it’s been so beautiful to see how the community has come together around these artists and helped support them. You can learn more here.

I’ve thoroughly been enjoying my Level 2 Facilitator’s course I’m taking through one of the companies I work for, The MEHRIT Centre. Every time I do a module, I have an a-ha moment, and it’s awesome to be starting to translate that knowledge into resources I can share. If you’re curious, check out the recent infographic I made for the course here!

In case you missed it, I interviewed my super-cool friend Or Har-Gil on my podcast this week about making meaning and telling different stories! So fun & so interesting.

Not linkable but no less inspiring, I was so moved by my Grandma’s 90th birthday party this past weekend. She is such a beautiful soul, and I was brought to tears more than once to see her surrounded by the family she’s created, plus her sister & brother-in-law visiting from Wales. It was such a special day that I will never forget. This weekend I have a fun dinner party and then am heading up to the cottage with my sweet man. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

004: Or Har-Gil on Making Meaning >> Life In Limbo

My friend Or is one of the best people I know at creating meaningful moments in the midst of everyday life, and I have been lucky enough to experience her magic over the past year that we’ve become close friends. She does a fantastic job of holding space for herself and for others, both in casual settings and in her work as an art therapist. She’s so wonderful and thoughtful, and it was so much fun to pick her brain about how she uses rituals to make her life feel richer.

  • You can find out more about Or on her website or Instagram
  • Before recording this episode we pulled cards from The Fountain Tarot! Or also generously lent me her copy of The Wild Unknown deck to start experimenting with using tarot as a tool in my own life.
  • I smiled and nodded as we were recording, then came home and googled “what is The Craft?!”. Turns out it’s a movie that I must now see.

  • For anyone in Toronto, Or is running her intuition card workshop soon! You can learn more about it & register here
