Inspiration: September 2

Inspiration September 2 >> Life In Limbo

If you’re not following Elizabeth Gilbert’s posts on Facebook, I suggest you do it now! I even set it up so I see her stuff at the top of my newsfeed, which has been amazing. This is one of my favourite posts she’s ever written, on having the “wrong” emotion: “We are complex and unique and perfect and true, and there is no one way to feel.” I love this so much, I can’t even tell you.

You hereby have permission to do the hard thing. (Hint: this is not always selling your possessions and moving abroad – sometimes, that’s the easier thing.)

How great is this idea for an easy, lovely birthday tradition?

I’m resolving to use a piece of my day for cultivating peace of mind. I like these simple ideas.

It can be so hard to know how exactly to help when someone is getting harassed in some way. This guide is designed for helping when encountering Islamophobia, but it’s a wonderful technique for any kind of awful social encounter.

Recently I’ve been loving videos from the Clean My Space Youtube channel. They’re well produced and super helpful, and it’s nice that they’re based in Toronto (my new home!). I didn’t think I would be into learning about cleaning…but I am?

Life has felt (and been) a bit overwhelming lately, so coming back to my little routines like these weekly posts is a nice way to stay grounded. I’ve been thinking a lot about how I am rarely creative when my life is in flux (or in limbo, if you will) – it’s only when I start to feel settled that I feel like making, writing, and taking photos. Yet another reason I’m excited to stay put for awhile!

This weekend I’m helping my sister move into a new apartment, seeing friends, and hopefully hanging out with my mom’s new golden retriever puppy. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.
