Project 365: Week 19

My, but it’s been a busy week. Crazy, in fact! I’m currently in a summer course, and just began working as well, and the schedule is a little rough. I slept in today because I haven’t been able to for the past few days, despite being exhausted. I don’t want to drone on about my schedule though, because the fact is that I’m loving my job! And I am very nearly done this summer course (they go by so quickly!). And the summer is beginning to take shape, and I love it.

Project 365 has its good days and its bad ones. Mainly good. Some bad. Sometimes I get the shot right away and am super pleased with it! Sometimes I never get a shot I’m in love with. Most of the time I feel a bit dejected that my photography isn’t better, but then I remember that the whole point of this project is to practice and improve. And then I feel a bit better.

Thanks for following along! xo.

Project 365: Week 18

This week was full of pretty things. A peanut-butter chocolate cake with lovely striped candles. A market full of fresh produce, diffused light, fresh samples and amazing seafood.   An afternoon on a rooftop overlooking all of Montreal. A trip to a beautiful boutique!

I love having photos to look back over: it helps me to re-live the special moments of my life and remember how happy and blessed I am. Even the photos that seem so half-baked at the time seem to be more full of colour and more exciting than they felt at the time. The whole really is greater than the sum of its parts.

I’m happy. I’m in a good place. Big, fun things are happening and I finally feel like I’m coming into my own in some small way. I hope that you are happy too.

Project 365: Week 17

Here it is, my Project 365 photos from the week of exams! I knew they’d probably be of less quality than other weeks, due to having less time to devote to taking photos. I’m actually pleasantly surprised that I managed to capture a few that I love! The zippered pouch, for one. And those pretty eggs, for another. I’m happy I was able to pull this project off, even if there was a day or two where I didn’t have many shots to choose from! I took a lot of Instagram photos to supplement, because I decided to do A Week In The Life – I’ll be showing you my album next week! It was a really fun project, and a great way to infuse my long study days with a bit more creativity.

I plan to spend my weekend picking up herbs at the farmer’s market, eating fresh food at picnics, and spending time with my busy friend.

Happy Friday! xo.

Project 365: Week 16

This week’s photos are a bit of a mishmash. There are also a number of repeats between this post and my recent around here post. This is mainly because I’ve been spending the majority of my waking hours sitting at a desk, and inspiration has been slightly scarce. I’ve been trying my best to capture moments, but that can definitely be a challenge when you’re studying for exams. I am trying not to be too perfectionistic about it. It’s also an issue that my apartment doesn’t get a lot of sunlight, because photos lit naturally look so much nicer than those I take at night. Oh well – summer is coming soon, and I’ll have as much natural sunlight as I can handle, hopefully!

I have two exams Monday, then I’m done for the semester! (Of course, my summer school class starts the next morning but I’m pretending to be blissfully ignorant of that fact). I’m not sure whether you’re still in school or if your exams don’t start for a few weeks, but either way: good luck! Stay calm. Sleep well. xo
