Project 365

Project 365: Week 15

I’ll admit: I got a little lazy once or twice this week, but I also got a little creative once or twice too! I think my favourite picture of the week is of my shrimp pasta, which I made in  my new skillet (which is gorgeous, but weighs a ton!). That was one of the best meals I’ve cooked in a while, and it helped that it was so pretty! The ginger syrup has been making a fine companion on those long studying days/nights. Homemade gingerale is the best! And of course, I still love my running shoes. Honestly, what’s great about Project365 (for me, who doesn’t have a dog or children to photograph!) is that it motivates me to document my everyday life. And I think I’ll be really grateful to be able to look back on this time of my life and see exactly what my day-to-day life was like. I love that.

I honestly can’t wait to get these printed as a Blurb book at the end of the year. Until then, I’m considering getting a book of my Instagram photos so far this year printed. If you’d like to do the same, you can use this link and enter 15OFFBLURB at the checkout to save 15% on your whole order. The ad I’ve put up on the sidebar will also work.

Happy Friday!

Project 365: Week 14

This might be my favourite set of Project 365 photos yet! My life has been so full lately – full of colour, and love and beautiful people. A few of the days, I had so many great photos to choose from! Others, not so much. But I love the spirit of this project. Love love love it. I can tell that I’m getting better at bringing my camera along, finding the light, etc. And I’m practicing with new settings, trying to find the style of photography I like best. I’m so glad I decided to take this project on.

Today is a beautiful day. I’m planning on making Martha’s mac & cheese, finishing the first Game of Thrones book, and relaxing, hopefully with some wine! Hope your Friday plans are majorly awesome. xo

Project 365: Week 13

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you know that I spontaneously decided to come home for my birthday/Easter! I’m thrilled that I did. Even though I have a big paper to write, and not long before exams, I won’t ever regret making a choice to spend time with my family. That’s an important lesson, and I’m glad I learned it, albeit at the last minute – I literally booked my train at 12:30 AM on Wednesday night, and left at 11:50 the next morning!

Today I had the pleasure of working on my essay with a lakefront view (thanks to the hospitality of my friend Isabelle!) and tonight I’ll get to have my first family dinner in a little while. I miss the quiet comfort of being surrounded by people sometimes, since I live alone.

Wishing you the happiest of Good Fridays.

Project 365: Week 12

Go girl.

I’m almost 3 months into Project 365. I can’t explain how amazing I feel about that. We’re turning the corner into April: final exams might make it a tough month for this project, but I’m still determined to take my daily photo. And during the summer? I have a feeling this project will be a cake walk – there’ll be so many beautiful, outdoorsy things to do and see.

Shooting the ice cream + cake post from yesterday was such a jubilant moment for me. I love food styling, I love that I’m slowly improving, and I love how the photos turned out. Love love love. Happy happy. Improvement of my photography is one of the reasons I took this project on. The other reason was to preserve everyday moments + beauty in my life. I think I’m succeeding at both!

Have a great day.
