This list of 10 Smart Things You Should Do in Your Twenties is spot on. I’m working towards all of them.

Kathryn Budig has some down-to-earth words about body image and food and yoga.

I feel I’m eternally learning things I didn’t know about blogging, and resizing photos is a “duh, you should have been doing that 5 years ago” moment for me. Great tips on how to streamline that process here.

The Late Summer Abundance Bowl is here! I love these things. I only wish I could find sorghum here in Korea, but quinoa will have to do.

I am considering starting the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge… uh oh.

Maybe I’m just a total Apple nerd, but of course I’m geeking out about the Watch (and the new iPhone).

I met the cool guy that runs this music blog in Seoul last weekend, and he makes some awesome Sunday-afternoon-feels playlists.

I liked this video about loosening up after sitting in a chair all day.

I periodically need to come back to this post I wrote 2 years ago called “today, be gentle”. I’ve been having a low energy, unmotivated, #feels-filled week so I’m amending it to “this week, or for as long as it takes (always), be gentle”. Maybe you need the reminder too? For now I’m going to try a latte, good music, patience, and some meditation.

Here’s to the weekend! I had a 2 day workweek, so I can’t really complain, but I’m still so happy it’s Friday. I need to hit the reset button a little and recenter. I calculated that I am a little over exactly halfway through my time here in Korea, which is an interesting place to be. The first half was jam-packed and so much fun, full of growth and exciting opportunities. I’m wondering what the second half and beyond will hold. Have a good one, everyone!

I became absolutely obsessed with the idea of having a capsule wardrobe this week. There are two really simple, beautiful ones from Unfancy – for Spring and for Summer.

I loved this article from Garance Doré. “We have to be careful not to project our own dreams of success on the people around us. True success is knowing who you really are and your own definition of success.”

A pretty awesome list of book recommendations from the Coaches Training Institute.

Speaking of book recommendations, the answers to this question on Quora about what smart and successful people read are so great, and I especially liked this answer in particular. Side note: I really love Quora, my weekly email from them is always full of such interesting questions I almost always click through to read some of the answers.

More beautiful quotes + photos from Shutterbean. I want to frame at least two in this series so far.

Serving people is your purpose.

I discovered Your Courageous Life this week and I love her posts.

I’m off to Seoul for the long weekend! It’s Chuseok, aka Korean Thanksgiving, so I have a 5 day weekend ahead of me, which is so lovely. I’m looking forward to the break, especially after the crazy month that was August. We are going to the DMZ, and then hopefully just wandering around, eating some falafel, reading a lot of books, and relaxing. I really like Seoul (I’ve been twice already this year) and I’m looking forward to my time there. Since it’s a holiday, I probably won’t be posting until later next week when I get back. Enjoy your weekends!

Solid advice from 8 years of blogging.

Mondays are hard. This Monday was a doozy, so I liked this post from JTB about getting through Monday in one piece.

I discovered Kendi Everyday this week and I’m totally obsessed – an approachable style blog! I liked her series (part 1 here) on creating a working closet (a goal for me).

I absolutely love Olivia’s photography and this was a total beauty of a wedding.

David Mitchell was one of my favourite authors already, but this piece on him took my respect to a whole new level. I cannot wait for his new book to come out.

Great ideas and rules from Bon Appétit on dining out.

This month I donated to Compassionate Care ALS and the community of Ferguson, MO through The United Way of Greater St Louis. You can see all my donations so far this year over on this page.

My brain is still stuck in late July/early August because it feels like we must still have at least a month of summer left. Where did the time go? I’ve had such an amazing summer, but it seems unbelievable how fast it’s gone. September on Monday?! 6 months since I’ve been in Korea?! Absurd. This weekend I’m hoping to do a little shopping and spend some time at the beach – hopefully surfing! There’s a little chill in the air, which makes me feel all kinds of feelings, mostly happy ones. Have an awesome weekend everyone!

I really loved this article about how to be polite, and what politeness really means. I especially loved this tip: “Ask the other person what they do, and right after they tell you, say: “Wow. That sounds hard.””

If you’re in the market for a new desktop background, Tracy mashed up some beautiful pictures and inspiring quotes.

The most adorable map of the introvert’s heart. I had a good chuckle at “Land of Self-Checkout Lanes” – couldn’t be more true for me.

Good advice – and stellar graphic design – from Braid Creative. I especially like the idea of making friends with other creatives.

I don’t agree with everything on this list, but there are some good tips in there about travelling alone!

Joy and Tracy talked about this article, 13 Things No One Tells You About Being a Woman, on the podcast this week, and I loved their discussion of it.

I’m reading Eleanor and Park right now and I haven’t been able to concentrate on anything else all day.

Two of my photos were featured on bigger Instagram accounts over the last couple weeks: on @ig.korea here and on @travilin here. I’m on Instagram at @lifeinlimboblog!

This weekend is going to be a good one! They all seem to be good ones these days. I’m just so excited about everything coming up and I have so much to look forward to. Tomorrow we’re heading to a baseball game (let’s just hope the weather holds out!), and I really want to do some more surfing on Sunday. Of course I also have a 15K training run tomorrow, so wish me luck! Have an awesome weekend.
