Inspiration August 7 >> Life In Limbo

This was one of my favourite episodes of the Jess Lively show to date – it’s all about experiencing personal growth in your relationships with your loved ones. So inspiring and I was scribbling down tons of notes throughout.

Always and always and forever needed: advice for people in their early 20’s from Zen Habits.

An inspiring archive of posts about how to boost and organize your creativity using index cards.

In my next apartment I plan to make this downloadable print front and centre. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it! Stop worrying!

Some cute/clever ideas about how to keep your living space more organized and effective.

“To change my circumstance, the most effective way to do that is to change the state of my body. When my body is flooded with oxygen-rich blood, my days are flooded with rich opportunities. When I lengthen my muscles, I create flexibility and spaciousness in my mind.”  What to tell yourself when you don’t feel like moving your body.

How to meditate everywhere: so, so very necessary.

I love this blog that talks about building a minimalist wardrobe.

I needed so badly to remember this quote this week (via my podcast partner Laura).

I love Facebook Messenger for keeping me in touch with friends but I hate going on Facebook. Enter the Mac app Goofy! Simple, easy, and works perfectly.

Annnnd I’m back! Back in Canada, back with my family, back to the podcast, back to the blog (somewhat). It feels so good to be back in the land of huge blue skies, nights that stay light out until 9PM, goat cheese, avocados, barbecues and campfires. It feels so great to see my whole family again and meet up with some of my very sweet soul-partner friends. I am enjoying the quiet, sunny days, reading lots of books and getting back to some of the “work” that makes me so happy. I hope you are having a beautiful summer too.

Inspiration April 14 >> Life In Limbo

We should all be always trying to be better people just as much as we’re trying to be “successful”. Beautiful and insightful piece.

I super loved this article about why all calories are not created equal.

The Get to Work Book is finally here and it’s so gorgeous! And looks so helpful! Total win.

The case for leaning out instead of into your career. I just read Amy Poehler’s book and particularly liked the essay they quote in this article.

This satire about getting together with friends over text is too real and I hate it. I cringe now anytime my messages start to look even remotely like this.

I love that some grocery stores in Canada are going to start selling ugly produce for cheaper prices.

We are going to the Elephant Nature Park tomorrow and are so excited!

Right now I’m sitting in a bunk bed in Chiang Mai after a big day of CRAZY water fighting and an hour-long massage and my sister is napping in the bunk under me! It’s funny how quickly things can seem totally normal but I want to keep appreciating how incredible it is that the timing worked out and the planning lined up and now I have her here with me along with two great friends. Life is wonderful. We are going to be in Chiang Mai for another few days before going up to Pai, then will make our way back down to Bangkok and eventually to one of the islands! Stay tuned for more photos and posts here on the blog once I have a spare minute to sit down and write. In the meantime, I’m doing okay at posting photos to my Instagram feed so feel free to follow me there @lifeinlimboblog. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!! xo

Inspiration March 27 >> Life In Limbo

One day, I’ll take this road trip. Bucket list!

Technology is making us all flaky and that’s not great. The text message examples they show are way too recognizable.

Some words all girls should practice saying: “Stop interrupting me.” ,“I just said that.”,“No explanation needed.”

As I’m gearing up for my next big trip, I liked a lot of this contrarian travel advice. Some parts I didn’t agree with, but overall he has the right idea.

How good do these “Middle Eastern nachos” look?!?!

An Instagram account with pretty pictures of books I want to read: yes.

I thought this story about Bro Orange was absolutely absurd and hilarious.

From me: I’m almost finished my time in Korea, so I finished the last of my seasonal videos. If you’re interested in what life in Busan looked like this winter and spring, check it out here!

I’ve been feeling really gross this week – some (awful) combination of yellow dust, stress, and for the past couple of days what felt like the flu. Thankfully, I’m on the mend because I leave Korea on Wednesday! Even though I’ve been looking forward to my trip and planning everything for months now, it still feels like it crept up on me somehow. But everything has been given away or packed up, and it’s time to go. I’ll be travelling through Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia before doing my yoga teacher training in northern India. I get home to Canada late July. I’m excited for all of it, but of course nervous too. Great safe adventure #2! Here we go.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Probably the coolest notebook of all time – if you put it in the microwave, you get a fresh unused notebook.

Tara’s words and photos about her time in Bali were beautiful.

I absolutely loved this article about opting out of certain things and how freeing it can be.

Since I really liked the book, I was excited to watch the Paper Towns movie trailer which just came out this week.

I think my friends and I are going to go to Osheaga this year and the lineup so far looks great!

I watched all of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt this week (only 13 episodes!) and it was so clever and funny that I miss it already. Sadly the next season won’t be out for a year.

This post about packing for a yoga teacher training in India was helpful.

I really liked this layered profile of Kendrick Lamar.

It’s been a good week. I got my passport back with my India visa inside! I gave away a lot of stuff and pared down my clothes even more. I booked a flight to Laos and a place to stay with my sister in Chiang Mai. Basically, things are slowly coming together like I knew they would but worried they wouldn’t. I fly out in 12 days (*maniacal laughter*) which is terrifying and so exciting. Have an absolutely wonderful weekend! xo
