Most inspiring for me this week was having the chance to interview one of my favourite original thinkers, Sarah Von Bargen! The episode will be out soon, but until then let’s all revisit her post about The Authenticity Tax, a concept that has truly changed the way I show up in my life.

Woohoo! Gmail now offers the ability to schedule emails without needing to use an add-on like Boomerang! This is great news. Looks like I’ll have to update my Inbox Zero course soon!

Brb, adding all of these to my to-read shelf and my library holds.

If you work from home or have trouble concentrating throughout the workday, Focus Mate could be a fun thing to try! Basically it’s a free service that sets you up with a virtual coworking buddy. Very intriguing.

Now THIS seems handy. Tunefind is a website that lets you look up all the music that played in the background of your favourite TV shows and movies. Just in case you forgot to Shazam!

A neat little list of tools that help you improve your writing. I also use the Yoast SEO plugin for my business blog posts and not only does it boost my SEO but I think it also makes my writing more succinct.

I started reading Joyful yesterday and already I feel like my eyes are open wider to my life and my environment. I can tell this one will be a game-changer for me!

Well, this week was a roller coaster! Lots of highs and lows, all mixed in together. That said, I’m happy to be where I am – if the first ten days of my 28th year are any indication, this year is primed to be transformative and wonderful. I just keep thinking of Elizabeth Gilbert’s eternally moving post, I Am Willing. She was writing about grief, but I think the concept applies in almost every facet of life. I am willing, I am willing, I am willing. “I am willing to be here for the duration of the mystery.” I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my loves. xo.

Yay! A collection of stock images featuring trans and non-binary models. You can read more about the project and its guidelines here.

I love this song, I love Queer Eye, and I love watching people do what they do best. And obviously I cried, duh. Watch it here!

An important reminder about what white privilege really means, from Rachel Cargle.

On the podcast this week, Jocelyn K. Glei is talking about the stickiness and agonizing slowness of transformation, and why acknowledging those realities matters.

In her newsletter she also brought my attention to this article by Ann Friedman! It’s a few years old now but still just as relevant. Love the reframe that how women speak is not actually a problem to be solved.

Loved this guy’s advice to his younger self (scroll down to “Advice to a young me” and really resonated with his method of keeping costs low so that he could work on exactly what he wanted.

Liked this important reminder from Paul Jarvis that what you currently charge is not a reflection of your worth as a human being. It’s a reflection of your skills and what the market can sustain.

Hot tip: if you ever feel intimidated by someone, try scrolling all the way back on their Instagram account, or putting their website into The Wayback Machine. It is so, so effective at re-humanizing them and reminding yourself that you can evolve & improve.

In case you missed it, I’m picking back up my birthday tradition of making a list of 27 things and 27 moments I loved at age 27.

It has been such a great week, with the exception of the horrifying snow/hail/horrible weather situation we are having as I write this. It’s April, people! Why do you do this to me, Canada!?! This weekend I am helping out at a sold-out Harvest Table Dinner celebrating Worker Bee Supply, having a book club meeting, and attending a fun brush calligraphy workshop! And hopefully starting to do my taxes…wish me luck! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. xo.

I am eternally inspired by people who give their all and go all in just to make something fun and entertaining. Thank you to the Queer Eye Fab 5 for existing and for this absolutely epic lip sync battle. (Also, it goes without saying that I am beyond inspired by the recent season of the show too.)

This TED talk given by a woman and her rapist was incredibly powerful – and I also guarantee you’ll be surprised by it. CW: mentions sexual violence.

One of my favourite thinkers, Laura Vanderkam, has a new podcast *every weekday morning* (!!) about productivity & time management. Yes queen!

I really liked reading about Kate’s mental health survival kit and the way she thinks about self-care.

A slightly morbid but ultimately helpful/beautiful tool to encourage you to go see your parents!! Life is precious and short.

How much do I wish I’d discovered Amy Young earlier in life? Let me count the ways. Even if you’re not romantically single, I feel like there’s really good stuff in this video about unreliability in relationships more generally.

Last weekend I was at Nurture, and was so inspired by everyone involved. I want everyone to know about Nurture, Stephanie Phillip, Lorette Lingerie, Lunaria Laboratories, and Katie Benfey Photography!

Time is flying – it’s already practically April! Not sure how that happened so quickly, but I feel happy about it. It’s finally Spring here most days, which means lighter jackets and more sunshine and longer evenings…which means a happy Stephanie. Summer is my favourite and it’s well on its way. Thank goodness! Like I said, I was away working at a retreat last weekend and will be taking another one next week to go even more off the grid, so there won’t be an Inspiration post or newsletter next Friday. I’ll be back April 12th! I might be popping into the blog with my annual posts in celebration of my birthday so keep an eye out for those ;) Until then, I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.

For my podcast club (what it sounds like! We listen to a podcast & then talk about it) this month we listened to #tellblackstories and it was excellent! A lot of really great facts, feelings, and perspective shifts.

LOVE this perspective from Paul Jarvis about treating your deep work time like you’re operating a moving vehicle. No distractions!

My wonderful friends The Space Between recorded their first YouTube video this week and it is lovely!

This week I finished The Checklist Manifesto and I really enjoyed it. I found his examples fascinating, especially when he compared the progress in aviation vs. medicine and discussed why some industries are so much more reluctant to adopt this super simple strategy.

I have been loving the thoughtfulness & humour of the Netflix show Sex Education. So clever and well-made!

This weekend it’s Nurture Spring 2019, and I am oh-so-ready to be incredibly inspired by the amazing women both facilitating and attending. If you’re local, make sure to join the waitlist for the next one in November! It’s magic.

Like I shared on Instagram, this week I was also super inspired by changes of scenery. When it’s cold I have a tendency to stick to the same-old nearby places, but getting out to see a gorgeous library or a sunny café can help a lot.

This week flew by, since a lot of my mental energy was focused on preparing and resting before the wonderful whirlwind that this weekend is sure to be! By the time you read this I’ll already be a Nurture, preparing to welcome a group of wonderful women to the space. I’m so excited. I always come back from these weekends feeling tired but full-to-bursting with inspiration and joy and connection. PS. HAPPY SPRING!! WE MADE IT! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! xo.
