Although you can follow my progress of project 365 on Flickr, I’ve seen lots of bloggers posting their week’s photos on their blogs. I quite like that idea! So I’ll be posting my top 7 each week here.
For those who don’t know, Project 365 is a mission to take a photo every day for a year. My own personal rules for myself are that:
- The picture has to be taken with my digital camera, not my phone
- I should try to capture “daily beauty”, if possible
I made these rules in order to improve + practice my photography, and to try and open my eyes to the daily beauty all around us. It’s been a great exercise so far. I’d encourage you to try it out! We’re only 12 days into 2012, so…(wait for it..as I type this it’s 12PM, on the 12th of January, 2012! )…you still have many other days of the year (353, to be exact) in which to take photos. So climb aboard!
So far, I’ve found it hard to capture things I find inspiring every day, especially since I’m not the kind of person who finds endless white and lots of wind + snow inspiring! But it’s been fun so far to remember to take my camera with me, and to try and keep an eye out for pretty things. The last shot is a snowy self portrait, taken on one of my snowy walks. I felt happy, and I think this photo captures that.
