Quiet week. Lots of cooking and a sudden urge to bake something totally gluttonous (salted caramel brownies coming soon to the blog!). Lots of homework, lots of researching for my trip (getting way. too. excited.). Busy, tiring weekend spent at work. I am looking forward to having a good friend visit next week! I am trying to get on top of my work and start studying for those blasted midterms I have coming up.

All is well. :)

Lots of learning about my camera this week, which I am thoroughly enjoying. I read somewhere that the best thing you can do to improve your photography is to read your camera’s manual from cover to cover, so I did! I learned a bunch of new things. In other fun news this week: I discovered a deep love for hot toddies, bought the most delicious-smelling candle, learned how to make perfect soft-boiled eggs, did a lot of reading, watched some reality cooking shows (my kryptonite) and had some ups and downs. It was a great week.

I am so looking forward to February for so many reasons, so I am happy to see its arrival. A busy but fun few weeks ahead! Happy Friday, all.

Seems like the weeks are flying by. Did I say that in a post recently? I can’t even remember, because the time is going by so quickly. It was a relatively relaxed week – I worked pretty much all of last weekend, sneaking in time for a nice dinner with my friends. I went to see the Habs game and wore my only piece of Habs memorabilia – and then they lost.. oh well.  This past week has also been *totally frigid* so I’ve spent a lot of time inside my very-un-insulated apartment with my space heater and some candles. I think I’m in the market for a few new candles, I’m finally using mine and they’re getting low. I’m kind of excited about it.

We went to see Gangster Squad on Tuesday (overall: meh/violent, Emma Stone: obsessed, Ryan Gosling: I love my husband, what can I say?) and then a student production of West Side Story on Thursday (!! loved it) so that was a fun break from the lonely studying. I read a book called Heads in Beds because I was getting stuck on another book, and I flew through it and am ready to get back to reading other things. It’s a book about working in hotels, and boy can I relate (as a waitress) to some of his stories about annoying customers!

I’m looking forward to this coming week. Next Friday my friends and I leave for Ottawa, just for the weekend for Winterlude! It’s fun to have a  lovely mini-vacation planned. Other than that I’m going to keep doing my readings, reading for fun, burning candles, and cooking good food. Happy Friday everyone! xo.

Hi! So, please bear with me as I figure out my favourite format for these end-of-week photo posts! I like including photos from Instagram, but they’re small and not great quality so I think it’s better I keep them small in the post. But I also want to be able to share some of my other photos when I have them. This format is what I’ve come up with for this week, let’s see how it works out. Also: I’ll be posting these Friday, and they’ll show everything since the previous post. One of my nightmares last year was having to try and match up the week of Project 365 with the photos…this year I’m not stressing out about it.

We had our book club meeting on the same night as we made s’mores in my friend’s fireplace! Both were fun activities. Highlight was playing “Kiss Marry Kill” with all manner of celebrity examples, and listening to “Boyfriend” to the chagrin of most (but not all) of our friends. There was a double birthday party night (two birthdays and two parties) on Saturday, it was a lot of fun to see everyone and plan a surprise for both of our friends! We had a Girls night where we watched the new episode of Girls, had an intellectual discussion about it, then watched the Mindy Project, and did not have an intellectual discussion about it. All in all, it was very fun.

I’ve been doing a little yoga, drinking a lot of tea, experimenting with a couple of new recipes, and reading a lot – as much as I can! Of course, school is pretty busy, they’re really making me work for this last semester! So I’ve been doing a lot of readings and diligently going to my classes. The weekend ahead promises to be full of work (actual work, and schoolwork) so I’m going to try and put my head down and barrel through it.

Happy Weekend!

xo.
