In case anyone else here works for home, these tips from Marie were so good!

This woman is my reading hero. I loved this post about how to read more, and this one comparing reading to meditation (yes!).

Mark Manson is so great. In many ways, your ability to succeed and learn over the long-term is directly proportional to your ability to change what you believe in response to your ignorance and mistakes.

If you, like me, are upset and confused over the American election results, let’s consider reading this list of books to help us understand.

Speaking of which: take action while you’re still angry.

Ha! A genius strategy for culling those annoying, spammy Instagram followers.

My new favourite resources are The Sweet Home and The Wirecutter – they basically do extensive, unbiased reviews of a whole bunch of products in a category and tell you the best one. I can’t tell you exactly why, but their review guides make me so, so happy. Also, I bought my ergonomic keyboard based on their recommendation and it’s so great that I just got their hairdryer pick too.

This sweet video warms my heart.

This week flew! Lots of work, lots of trying hard to stick to my good habits, lots of walks down to the water, lots of reading. It’s that time of year when I like to get cozy with a book all night, and I’m happy to report that I’ve actually been doing so! All that said, I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend. Have a good one! xo.

I bought myself this ergonomic keyboard and mouse this week, and they have drastically improved my posture.

My friend and I made this recipe for baked sweet potatoes on Monday and it was so easy and so good.

There are always so many cool books in the Goodreads Choice Awards nominees. They usually all get added to my To-Read list!

I’ve been sitting in front of my computer for a while trying to think of other things that I was inspired by this week but the fact is that most of the space in my brain this week was taken up by thoughts, fears, and anxieties about the election. So this is what I have for you today: a tool for helping you take care of your body, a good warm vegan meal, and a bunch of amazing books.

I’m going to go change into cozy clothes, make some more tea, and watch a movie. It’s 5:30PM and fully dark outside, which I haven’t experienced in a couple years and which is not really helping matters. But we go on. Lots of love to all of you! xo.

Leaving books places is the coolest idea ever.

Marie Forleo is always blending business with spirituality and reminding us of important things, like that we’re never too good to get a day job.

I inhaled Love Warrior this week – so very good. If you’re not familiar with Glennon’s work (which I wasn’t until earlier this summer!), read this (kind of??) spoilersy post she wrote on her blog.

Anyone else kind of swooning a little over Google’s new phone? I never thought I’d switch from iPhone but…you never know.

Also technology-related: I feel like I need this posture trainer in my life!!

Such an amazing house tour! Joy is living her best life.

I became fully obsessed with the My Favorite Murder podcast this week. It sounds awful. It’s not. If you’re fascinated by true crime, get into it! They’re funny, and know what they’re talking about when it comes to racism and sexism – I feel like we’d be friends IRL but I’m sure everyone thinks that.

This week was a doozy work-wise, but still very enjoyable in a lot of ways. I did some good reading, watched West of Memphis, finally solved a big weird tech thing for a client, went on a coworking date to the cutest café (Rooster on King, for any of my Toronto friends!), went for lots of walks to look at the leaves, was very productive at the library and got enough sleep. Life is pretty good around here. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo.

I re-listened to this interview of Seth Godin by Tim Ferriss again this week, and it was just as good the second time. Seth is such an incredibly fascinating and inspiring figure to me, I really admire the way he lives and works.

Being self-employed is awesome in a lot of ways! One thing I’m working on is creating that separation between work and home, and I love these ideas for rituals to de-stress.

There are no less than three Little Free Libraries in my neighbourhood – and that’s just ones that I have stumbled across without looking for them! Today on a lunchtime walk I found a book that my sister has been wanting to finish after having to return it to the real library, so I grabbed it for her and will return when she’s done. Not to harp on this too much, but has there ever been a better invention than a library!!?!?! You can check if your neighbourhood has any here.

This video is targeted at people who work with kids in schools, but the message is universal. How much happier would our world be if we could bring our best selves to the table as much as possible? I always need this reminder.

Did you know that the app Later has a preview feature for Instagram? Meaning you can see what a photo will look like in your feed. A small but fun feature if you care about that sort of thing.

Currently reading: Linchpin by Seth Godin, Pathways to Possibility by Rosamund Stone Zander, and listening to You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay as an audiobook. Each of them is in a different format, which is the only way it’s manageable. ;)

The photo above was taken at Early Bird Espresso, where I went for a coffee date with my friend Laura. Since I moved to Toronto we’ve been trying to have one at least once a week and they’re so much fun!

It’s been a good week for me! I’ve been getting back into using my Fitbit again and hitting my 10,000 steps a day, which means more walks, more exploring, more dance parties in my apartment = all awesome stuff. The public library is my office most days, which suits me pretty well, especially since it’s so close to my house. I’ve been doing a good job of making plans with friends and I’m also really enjoying my alone time. I think I’m learning a lot guys! Life is an interesting adventure, and this new season of my life has a lot to teach me. I hope to share lots of the journey with you as I go. I hope you have a wonderful weekend! xo.
