Project 365: Week 25

I think this week’s photo set can be summed up in one phrase: try to spot “The Art of Fielding”! It pops up 3 times. I spent a good chunk of my week immersed in the book, which I loved and recommend. As you can see from the stack-of-books photo, I’ve been exploiting my local libraries to the fullest! I love having books scattered all over my apartment. This week also held an all-you-can-eat sushi lunch, a trip to the farmer’s market to meet with our plant mentor (and buy some basil!), a brunch or two, some podcasting, and the beginning of the Jazz fest! It’s been lovely.

Hope your weekend is beautiful so far. Get outside and enjoy it! xo

Project 365: Week 24

Another great, summery week. I’ve made a few trips to the library and now thick, exciting books are littered around my apartment. It’s been suffocatingly hot the past few days, so hooking up my fan last night and drinking a lot of frozen beverages have been my saving graces. There were a lot of food/drink photos this week, because those are my favourite, apparently. I love photographing food! At the same time, I want to improve my photos of people and places. Now that I have a lot of free time (only working, no more summer school) I want to try and devote a lot of it to improving my photography. Yay! I’m also trying hard to take my own advice, and have been attempting to start another novel. Yikes. How’s your summer going? Happy Friday!

Project 365: Week 23

Safe to say, this has been probably the best week I’ve had all summer. Even the last two days alone have been completely outstanding – full of friends, and love, and fun, and amazing food, and walking around the city until my feet are sore and all I want to do is curl up and watch So You Think You Can Dance. I’ve sat on gorgeous patios, eaten chocolate soft-serve (obsessed), screamed my head off on roller coasters, gotten some great news, done some work, and smiled. I feel awesome.

I’m reminded that this summer is only going to be what I make it. It’s all in my attitude. I can’t wait around for things to happen, for people to be free – I’ve got to be grateful for what I have, and make the most of it. It’s about making a plan, and following it through. I’ve been loving every second of it!

I’m releasing my very first ebook (mini ebook) on the blog on Monday morning, so get excited for that!

xoxo. Have a wonderful weekend.

Photo Walk: Logos

All of these photos (save the first one) were taken at Montreal’s Beer Fest yesterday evening. The first is of a bottle of wine that I bought purely because I was in love with its label (it tastes pretty great too, luckily!).

It was my first time at Beer Fest, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. They have such an enormous selection, and the mood of the festival is so fun and boisterous. My friend Laura and I both love a good label, and we were thrilled by the adorable/catchy labels and brands that were showing yesterday. Above are some of my favourites. Unfortunately, the festival is held in an incredibly ugly conference centre, so the lighting is awful. Pair that with the fact that I was drinking, and it explains why a few of these photos are on the blurry side. Blame it on the beer!
