Project 365

Project 365: Week 27

It isn’t a secret that I love Joy the Baker and Tracy Shutterbean like it ain’t no thang. So colour me thrilled to see that finally, *finally*, my local bookstore had two copies of the JTB cookbook in stock. Let’s just say, now they only have one copy in stock. The recipes all look incredible, but I’ve only made one so far: the Single Girl Melty Chocolate Cake. My oven didn’t cooperate so I ended up overbaking it, but it was straight up delicious. I cannot wait to make every single other recipe.

This week has been lovely. Full of runs, DIY, cooking and baking, friends, happy hours, picnics, journalling, reading. I’ve had a great time. We’re past midsummer, so I’m trying to make the most of every day we have left in summer! Hope you have an awesome summery weekend.

Project 365: Week 26

My dad’s been in town for the last few days: you’ll see him pop up in these photos a couple times. We had fun – lots of dinners, lots of Jazz Fest, lots of walking around. I’m totally exhausted and ready for a big sleep in tomorrow morning. Summers in Montreal are so beautiful, not only because they just are, but because friends and family tend to visit more often, which is wonderful.

But after all that delicious (and rich) food, my body is craving greens, smoothies, green smoothies, salad, etc. We’ll see how long that’ll last, I suppose!

Are you gearing up for a beautiful weekend? I hope so! Enjoy that sunshine.

Project 365: Week 25

I think this week’s photo set can be summed up in one phrase: try to spot “The Art of Fielding”! It pops up 3 times. I spent a good chunk of my week immersed in the book, which I loved and recommend. As you can see from the stack-of-books photo, I’ve been exploiting my local libraries to the fullest! I love having books scattered all over my apartment. This week also held an all-you-can-eat sushi lunch, a trip to the farmer’s market to meet with our plant mentor (and buy some basil!), a brunch or two, some podcasting, and the beginning of the Jazz fest! It’s been lovely.

Hope your weekend is beautiful so far. Get outside and enjoy it! xo

Project 365: Week 24

Another great, summery week. I’ve made a few trips to the library and now thick, exciting books are littered around my apartment. It’s been suffocatingly hot the past few days, so hooking up my fan last night and drinking a lot of frozen beverages have been my saving graces. There were a lot of food/drink photos this week, because those are my favourite, apparently. I love photographing food! At the same time, I want to improve my photos of people and places. Now that I have a lot of free time (only working, no more summer school) I want to try and devote a lot of it to improving my photography. Yay! I’m also trying hard to take my own advice, and have been attempting to start another novel. Yikes. How’s your summer going? Happy Friday!
