Inspiration: February 5

This list of 100 dreams inspired me to make one of my own. I’ve made one for my life overall before (kind of like a bucket list), but this time I decided to make one just for the rest of 2016.

An interesting technique that organization expert Marie Kondo uses to declutter her brain.

I am so hooked on the Serial Season 1 updates that have been coming out this week.

Dear Sugar Radio did a three part series on looking for “The One” which was sensitive, thoughtful, fascinating and helpful. You can find the first episode here.

Such a wonderful, beautiful photo series to encourage the adoption of pit bull-type dogs and break down stereotypes.

A lovely list of 52 places to visit in 2016 from the NY Times, although I was surprised by how many were cities in the USA.

I made this impressive-looking but easy bread this week and it was delicious.

On the podcast this week, we discussed Laura’s experience getting an IUD, and we have been happy to be getting such thoughtful feedback from listeners.

This week went by in an absolute flash, which seems to be happening a lot lately. I went to a book club for Modern Romance, checked out the wonderful Capilla del Hombre Guyasamin museum with a new friend, and helped out with a great webinar for work. This weekend we have yoga in the park and hopefully a good amount of reading. Have a wonderful weekend!

Lately: January 2016

Lately January >> Life In Limbo

Here’s what I was doing in January:

Watching Suits for the first time, and some of the Oscar Nominees.

Using the 1 Second Everyday app, and loving it.

Learning this Where They From choreography.

Finishing the Brilliant Beautiful Blog ecourse.

Looking for the light.

Buying a Photoshop CC membership and that dance tutorial to spark joy.

Listening to Happier with Gretchen Rubin and the Every Branch podcast.

Eating a lot of green apples, scrambled eggs on toast, roasted broccoli, and Greek-inspired salad.

Baking these excellent biscuits and this delicious cinnamon bread.

Working often at a café with great coffee and reliable wifi.

Sitting on a doughnut cushion on account of bruising my tailbone while paragliding for the first time (which was so fun!).

Drinking cold brew coffee every morning (so ridiculously easy) made in my new coffee maker (my December spark joy purchase).

Feeling a little anxious, but also hopeful and grateful for my life.

As always, thanks for reading and for all your support.

Inspiration | January 29

I haven’t been able to stop watching this choreography all week. So amazing! I even downloaded the tutorial to learn how to do it myself.

Barbie is getting a few new body types!! Hallelujah. This announcement is wonderful, because maybe it will help to make it so that my future daughters’ bodies won’t be as scrutinized as mine and my peers’ were.

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get organized, this post has some awesome ideas about unconventional areas of your life to sort through.

A great article about being a thoughtful partner.

In case you missed it, we talked about the “Insta 100 Challenge” on the podcast last week.

Self-driving cars will soon be a reality, which is so cool.

It was a quiet week, I just did a lot of tying up loose ends on my course to get it ready to launch on Monday. I was also happy to get back into writing, doing some catching up with family and friends, and trying to learn how to dance (see first link above). This weekend I’m hoping to relax and enjoy, do some yoga, say thank you to January, and look forward to February. It was a great month, but I’m ready for the next one. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

PS. The Brilliant Beautiful Blog course will be launching on February 1st! If you haven’t already signed up to get a discount code, you can do that right here.
