Before I start, let me declare loud and clear: I am not an expert in this subject! This post will be an accumulation of all the wisdom and tips I’ve gained either through my own experience or by listening to others, and it certainly won’t be the be-all-and-end-all of job-hunting guides by any means. Hopefully it will contain enough information to give you an extra boost in your search for employment this summer! Behold, a few of the pointers I’ve learned.
As you probably know, I love bruschetta of all kinds. Although bruschetta is traditionally just toasted bread with fresh garlic rubbed over the top, I much prefer fresh tomatoes mixed with anything on hand (see here and here) and a generous helping of the bright flavours of balsamic vinegar and goat cheese.
The other day, I was in the mood for a decadent lunch that included some of my favourite tastes – fresh, crusty baguette, creamy goat cheese and tangy balsamic vinegar. This is the simplest of meals that could also double as an hors d’oeuvre at a party (just use smaller baguette rounds), paired with some champagne?
I think it’s summer. I’m sitting beside an open window, in a skirt, sipping on lemon water, listening to Joy the Baker’s new podcast and loving life. Anyone else listen to it yet? Anyone else find that bloggers’ real voices never, ever match up to how you imagine their voices? It’s disconcerting.
I’m back in the downright gorgeous city of Montreal for the remainder of the summer. I’m in the process of looking for a new apartment, and I may have located just the one! I don’t want to jinx it though, so I’m going to keep mum on how much I like it until I can figure out how to acquire it. Tomorrow the job hunt begins – I get nervous about handing out resumes, but it’s got to happen and I’ve got to stay confident.
For now, though, I get to fantasize about the rest of the summer. Concerts, festivals, dinners al fresco, farmer’s markets, reading in parks. If the last couple days are any indication, the next few months are going to be heavenly: free, breezy, relaxed. Work and play in equal parts.
Well, it’s not exactly suited for summer, but it’s sort of about being in love and all that silly business so that’s summery. It’s cute when it comes on the radio in the car and you sing it to your beau and vice versa.
